Record Rent Achieved in New Lease at Republic Education Campus

Trilogy Real Estate and LaSalle Investment Management are pleased to announce 90% occupancy within Import Building at Republic, a multi-occupied education campus at East India Docks. The milestone also marks a record headline rent of £37.50 psf at the campus.

The announcement comes as LCA Education Group will expand its space from 120,000 sqft to 136,290 sqft, across 5 floors. Having first moved into the scheme in 2019, LCA operate multiple universities on-site including ARU London, University of Northampton and University of Central Lancashire London. Trilogy has created the pioneering model for a new alternative education campus, developing work-ready graduates ready for the jobs of tomorrow.

Republic, the flagship scheme is a unique innovation campus in East London which combines the world of education with the future of work. Alongside The University of the West of Scotland, ARU London and York St John University are Global Banking School and City Gateway which sit alongside a further ecosystem of creative businesses, third sector organisations and institutions. The campus has set a new standard for placemaking, with a range of on-site amenities and spaces for businesses of any size, from single desks to entire floors, developed with a focus on creativity, connectivity, sustainability and wellbeing.

In October 2023 Republic also received planning consent for a 940,000 sq ft expansion of the campus to include student accommodation and university buildings, build-to-rent residential and a state-of-the-art data centre.

Laurence Jones, Head of Asset Management at Trilogy Real Estate, said "We are pleased to achieve this milestone at Republic and support our university partners with their continuing expansion. This not only supports the growth and development of the education sector, but also the overall economic landscape. By providing more space for learning and research, we are investing in the future leaders of tomorrow and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration that will benefit the entire mix of occupiers at Republic.”
